Commissioning Guide

high pressure centrifugal compressor

Before specifying a high pressure centrifugal compressor, resolve cooling duty and water conditions, which auxiliaries sit inside measured package power, and which FAT/SAT records the owner still owns. Discharge pressure in barg or psig is not a complete specification until inlet conditions and cooling are on the same comparison row. This guide is a procurement dossier. It is not an engineering stamp or a promise that SAT will pass on the first visit.

Input checklist

  1. Input checklist: Sample run

List gas or air service, inlet temperature, inlet pressure, required high-side discharge pressure, and expected min/normal/peak flow. Ask how controls respond at minimum plant demand. Request measured package power with a named list of lube pumps, fans, oil consoles and seal systems included in that figure. Public tables that pair kW/hp, barg/psig and m³/min/cfm are unit reminders, not this site’s guarantee.

  2. Site readiness

Record cooling-water supply temperature, flow, pressure and quality the package assumes, plus three-phase supply, instrument air, footprint, rotor-pull space and PLC interface. If cooling water cannot meet the assumed duty, the high-pressure envelope is not demonstrated. Installation piping, foundations and training hours should be marked included or excluded.

  3. Owner acceptance

Agree measurement locations for flow, pressure and power, and record inlet and cooling conditions on the SAT sheet. Identify spare parts, access for cooler-bundle removal, and who owns recipe or alarm changes after handover. One catalog ISO statement does not cover this project’s FAT.
